Client
Self-Initiated commercial real estate concept project exploring a modern, data-driven platform for CRE professionals and deal-making.
Project Type
End-to-end product design case study encompassing UX research, user journeys, information architecture, UX/UI design, and prototyping.
Role
Lead Product Designer responsible for research, strategy, UX architecture, interface design, prototyping, and translating complex CRE workflows into intuitive experiences.
Objective
Create a unified platform simplifying property discovery, investment analysis, deal collaboration, marketing, and offering memorandum creation for commercial real estate professionals.
Challenge
01
Fragmented CRE Workflows: CRE professionals rely on disconnected tools for property research, analysis, collaboration, marketing, and deal management, creating inefficiencies throughout transactions.
02
Complex Data Overload: Commercial real estate involves extensive property, financial, market, and tenant data that can overwhelm users and slow decision-making.
03
Diverse User Needs: Brokers, investors, owners, analysts, and marketers have different goals, workflows, permissions, and information requirements within CRE transactions.
04
Outdated CRE Experiences: Existing CRE platforms often prioritize dense information over usability, creating interfaces that feel dated, complicated, and difficult to navigate.
05
Connecting Data to Action: Users need more than property information; they must quickly transform insights into analysis, marketing materials, collaboration, and transactions.
Approach
01
Designed a unified ecosystem connecting research, underwriting, collaboration, marketing, and transaction workflows within one centralized platform.
02
Organized complex information through clear hierarchies, dashboards, filters, summaries, and progressive disclosure to make insights faster to understand.
03
Mapped distinct user journeys and designed role-specific experiences while maintaining a consistent platform architecture and shared information system.
03
Applied modern product design principles, intuitive navigation, responsive layouts, and streamlined interactions to create a more accessible CRE experience.
03
Designed connected workflows that turn property intelligence into actionable outputs, including underwriting, OMs, marketing, collaboration, and deal opportunities.
User Journey Mapping
I developed detailed user journeys for Atlas CRE’s core audiences, including investment sales brokers, investors, property owners, analysts, underwriters, and marketing designers.
Each journey mapped the complete experience from initial discovery and onboarding through property research, evaluation, collaboration, deal execution, and post-transaction activities. I identified each user’s goals, actions, questions, emotions, pain points, frustrations, and desired outcomes at every stage. This helped uncover where users experience friction and where Atlas could create meaningful improvements.
The journeys also served as a foundation for defining product requirements, prioritizing features, structuring navigation, and designing role-specific workflows. By understanding how each persona interacts with the platform, I was able to create an ecosystem that supports individual needs while maintaining a cohesive overall experience.

Market Position Informed UX Strategy
I developed the UX strategy around Atlas CRE’s business model, target market, competitive landscape, and long-term product opportunities.
I defined how the platform could create value for brokers, investors, owners, analysts, and marketing teams while supporting sustainable business goals through interconnected workflows and features.
The strategy considered user acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, differentiation, and scalability, ensuring design decisions supported both user needs and commercial objectives.
I translated these business considerations into product priorities, feature opportunities, user flows, and experiences designed to encourage recurring platform usage and demonstrate clear value.
This approach ensured the UX was not designed in isolation, but as part of a broader product and business strategy that could support Atlas CRE’s growth.

Atlas CRE Application
I translated the research, user journeys, and information architecture into a cohesive application structure, defining how users navigate between properties, deals, tenants, OMs, analytics, and collaboration tools.
I established the platform’s navigation, content hierarchy, workflows, and relationships between features to ensure complex CRE information remained intuitive and accessible.
From this foundation, I designed the core interface and transformed the system into a high-fidelity interactive prototype, connecting key user flows and demonstrating how Atlas CRE would function as a real product.
The prototype allowed me to test the overall experience, identify opportunities for refinement, and communicate the product vision through realistic interactions and end-to-end workflows.
